    Verifying Dynamic text on a web page

    I have a welcome message on my screen which says
    Welcome <username>

    Now when this script is run for a new user, Verify Properties would fail.Is there a wildcard serach where we can just say
    {"$FullCaption" , "Welcome *" }. Is the function FuzzyVerify useful here.
    Please clarify..
    Thanks,
    Shivram

    Hi!
    U can check it by writing in 'if else'

    Pass ur username thru a List or Record or thru Database

    if Vresultstring=="Welcome "+Vusername
    //Pass
    Else
    //Fail

    Re: Verifying Dynamic text on a web page

    I'm not connecting to the database. I need to verify only using the front end.

    You can insert a variable into the verify using curly braces, {sUName} in place of asterisk *. sUName would be the String for the username.

    Shivram,

    Try one of these

    Verify(strUserName)
    -or-
    Verify("{strUserName}")

    Re: Verifying Dynamic text on a web page

    Shivram,
    It depends on the type of verify, for your case of verify properties it will specify within the curly braces text, for example:
    Verify Properties ...
    {"text", "Welcome John"}
    What I have done in this situation is to remove the variable from the Quotes:
    {"text", "Welcome " sUName}
    Actually mine is a record so it looks like:
    {"text", Record.sUName}
    HTH -Len
