Silk is hanging the system after Click

    Hi ...

I am having a problem with Silk and I hope somebody can help me fix it.

I am working with Silk and an Xerox Corp app (DigiPath). Everything works fine except when I click the button OK to print the job (that is not a GDI interface, but an specifi Xerox dialog to connection with Xerox Printers).

When I click in the button manually it is suposed to raise a progress dialog, when I click the button using Silk the mouse will freeze and the system will hang up until I press Ctrl+Esc.

After some investigations I verified that I canīt capture the progress window. Silk will be freeze until the dialog disappear.

Even If I try to open the recorder after click the button, Silk will wait the dialog to open and close before start the recorder.

Somebody can explain to me where is the problem ???

    Thanks
    Andariho

Btw. Sorry about some english problems ... I am from Brazil

Don't worry about the English. Your message was plenty clear.

How was the Xerox dialog constructed? I'm not familiar with DigiPath. If you attempt to record window declarations on it, what does Silk see? Anything at all?

Re: Silk is hanging the system after Click

The Production Print Dialog is ok, the Silk recognize as a normal DialogBox.
The only problem exist when I click in the OK button in this dialog.

The MainWindow (DigiPath) is only recognized as a DialogBox ... why ??? I think that it is suposed to be recognized as MainWindow.

The software was developed in C++.

In the last year in an older release the same problem was there. And the quick fix that I found (because I had only 5 days before come back to Brazil) was start :
    Start Calculator.
Send a message requesting user to click OK and close the message within 10 seconds. Ugly.

Look like the progress dialog is holding the entire Silk since that when a hit Ctrl+Esc the error will be registered in the CLick command.

In any way I canīt recognize the progress dialog since that Silk is hanging up untill the dialog exists.

btw. Thansk for the reply !

What's your platform? Is this on NT? If so, can you call up the task manager and look at the processes tab and see what process (if any) is eating up your resources?

If you set a breakpoint on the OKButton.Click() where you are sending the job off, what happens if you Step Into that command line by line, rather than Step Over it? Do you get any clues about the problem that way?

Re: Silk is hanging the system after Click

I had a similar problem clicking one of the buttons in my application when I used
    wWindow.Button.Click()
the machine will freeze and I couldn't do anything but ctrl+alt+delete and then cancel.

    but If I use

    wWindow.Button.Click(1,1,1,true)
it worked fine. try it. If it works you will have atleast one problem solved.

Do you really have to click on the button? Can't you tab to the button check if that's the button you want and press "enter"(also check if it's. This could be a work around.

    Hi,

Did you try waiting for some time after
    pressing OK button.

    int nDelay = 10
    ...
    Sleep(nDelay)

Try increasing delay if it still doesn't work.

I tried delays before, after, everything you can imagine ... excepet the Click(1,1,1,true) that made the script work fine.
