    Data Driven Testcases

I was successful in creating a datadriven test script. Is there a way to create a set of arguments and run them at one time?

    Thanks for the help.

    Re: Data Driven Testcases

    Dean,

If you send me your e-mail I will send you an example of a testcase that looks to an access database for it's input.

    My e-mail is hotshot@netins.net

It is my home e-mail so if you reply during the day tomorrow I will send it to you tomorrow night.

I don't get time to play at work much any more.

    Re: Data Driven Testcases

There are also quite a few articles you can search on these message boards that use an Excel spreadsheet with ODBC driver as the input for your data driven testcases.

I've been working on this the past week, and so far so good. It's a bit tedius of a task to make your testcases data driven if you have a lot of variables.

Can anyone please post some sample code for using a text file as input into your data driven testcases?

    Deanp,

If each line of your file represents a single variable to pass, you could do something like:
Really, though, the database approach would be better.

    Deanp,

I sent the e-mail last night but it was returned undeliverable this afternoon. I resent it again just in case. Can you let me know if you got it? The other recipient in the e-mail got theirs.

    Steven,

I did receive your email and sent you a reply. Hope you received it. Thanks again. I did not get a chance to work with it but plan to do so this weekend.

It is better to use any Other Databases like
MsAccess or SQL than Excel files, this is much more easy and flexible to maintain, only change ur DSN to point Database and thats all

    Hi,

You can download whitepaper on how to
    access data from Excel spreadsheets.
    http://www.ameliortech.com/stuff/too...T/st_whpap.htm

I have used it and it is flexible.
