    HTMLPopupList.select() problem

    Hi Everyone,
    I am having erratic behavior with HTMLPopUpList, when using the select method on HTMLPopupList using SilkTest 5.0.3 on IE5.0 SP1. Sometimes I need to scroll the list into view to make it work, other times I have set to FALSE the Agent.OPT_Verify_Responding property, to make another list work. Right now I have one that I just can not get to work. The problem is that the applicaton I am working on has around 100 different list boxes. Is there a patch for Segue or something similar that can help?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hector.

    Re: HTMLPopupList.select() problem

    Hi

    Solution

    Try these things to eliminate the error message:

    If the line of code is inside a Recording block, remove the Recording keyword.

    Set the following option just before the line causing the error:
    Agent.SetOption(OPT_VERIFY_RESPONDING, FALSE)

    If the selection is successful, but you still get the error, try using the Do . . . except feature.

    What is not working? Can you be more specific.

    Did your app or silk crash?
    Did Silk stopped the script with an error?if so what is the message?

    What happens if you record the action of selecting on the dropdown that doesn't work, and then you play back the steps?

    Re: HTMLPopupList.select() problem

    This is the code:

    Application.Rooftype.Select("Other")

    and I am geting this error...

    ***** : Error Item 'Other' was not found.

    It is in the list. I have tried using "#3" instead of passing the string but this does not work. I have tried changing the Agent option, but this does not work. I could see how to use the do...except if the list box was being selected correctly and an error thrown afterwards, but this is not the case.

    I'm begging to have serious doubts about this tool..

    Thanks for your replies...

    Hector.

    Re: HTMLPopupList.select() problem

    Responding back to part of your first question: yes, there are many updates available from the version you're using. The current version is 5.5 SP2a.

    There were issues with HtmlPopupList objects in 5.0x as I recall. I haven't seen them of late. May want to consider upgrading.
