    select hyperlink without clicking

    Is there a way to select the link without clicking it. For example, if you used tab to nagivate a web page, the hyperlinks are marked by a dotted box.

    Re: select hyperlink without clicking

    There is no "Select" method that I know of for an HTML link. However, if you can navigate to it with keys, you do this with the "TypeKeys" method.

    However, I also know of no built in method of verifying the "highlight" once you're there.

    Re: select hyperlink without clicking

    Just tried this out, and the 4Test method HasFocus () will return TRUE if the item currently has the focus. However, SetFocus doesn't work, so you're going to have to figure out some other way to give the object the attention you want. I suppose you could click-n-drag as that won't fire the Click event on the object and will give it the focus.

    Re: select hyperlink without clicking

    Navigating to the link using TypeKeys () and verifying with HasFocus () is probably the 'cleanest' method, but might be a little slow.

    Since clicking should be quicker, you could try doing a right-click, then pressing <ESC> to close the pop up menu. This would result in the HtmlLink being selected, but not activated.

    Re: select hyperlink without clicking

    HtmlLink().Click(2) //righ button click
    TypeKeys("Esc") //close menu

    Now you have the focus.

    This will do the trick it works for me in 5.032 and 5.5 under IE(probably true for NS too).
