Wondering if anyone would like to share their stradegy for localizing silk scripts. We're going through this right now and it's a pain. Seems that the best thing to do is use window id's where possible. After that looks like a lot of sweat work. Any easy solutions?
we use control id's where ever possible. We use string var's for everything else. We define the string var's in a .inc file. If we are running on a localized o/s, we detect the language and then parse out the appropriate translation file during ScriptEnter. So if we are running on French o/s, we parse out the french.cfg file to get the correct translation. You can also use multitags and define the tag for each language but I like to have all my definitions in one place. Makes maintenance much easier.
You are correct in that it is a lot of sweat work.
