    greyed out check box

    I'm working on a function to verify a screen where a check box is disabled (it's visible, but greyed out). Because it's disabled, the IsChecked() method does not work. Segue's suggested workaround is to enable the check box first -- that won't work from this screen, and it kind of defeats the purpose. I can see whether the check box is checked or not -- does anyone have any ideas for how I can make Silk see through the grey?

    How about CheckBox.IsEnabled () ?

    You might also be talking about a tri-state checkbox. A standard checkbox can only be TRUE or FALSE, but I have seen custom controls where a third state can be introduced. You might want to check with the developer if the checkbox is being disabled or if there is a possible 3rd state for the control.

    Does IsEnabled() not get you what you need on that?

    Re: greyed out check box

    Sounds like KS wants to know if the checkbox is checked or not. I have greyed out JavaJFCCheckBoxes and I can check those with IsChecked() (SP2 on NT).

    A clunky way would be to capture a bitmap image of the checkbox when it is checked (or unchecked - whichever state you are checking for) then doing a bitmap compare.

    Yes.. I want to know if this greyed out checkbox is checked or not. Is bitmap comparision my only option?

    Re: greyed out check box

    After playing with GetPropertyList(), I found that the following line gets it done:

    bChecked = wObject.GetProperty("State")

    It's weird that GetState() fails, but getting the state through GetProperty() does work.

    Thanks All

    Re: greyed out check box

    Go to Options / Agent / Verification tab and remove the check from the "Ensure windows are enabled" box. IsChecked() will now return the correct value for the disabled checkbox.
