    CustomWin AfxFrameOrView42u, AfxWnd42u etc

We are testing a MMC based application,

One of the window declaration is,

    [-] window ChildWin ConMonitor
    [ ] tag "#1"
    [ ] parent MMC
    [-] CustomWin AfxFrameOrView42u1
    [ ] msw tag "[AfxFrameOrView42u]$59648"
    [-] CustomWin AfxFrameOrView42u1
    [ ] msw tag "[AfxFrameOrView42u]$12789"
    [-] CustomWin AfxOleControl42u1
    [ ] msw tag "[AfxOleControl42u]$0"
    [-] CustomWin AfxWnd42u1
    [ ] msw tag "[AfxWnd42u]#1"

I will like to know any suggestions to map these custom objects?

    Re: CustomWin AfxFrameOrView42u, AfxWnd42u etc

well....i have a doc of class mapping custom objects...this is what it says....
..."Well, if you absolutely must ignore, look under, or map this particular class of window, you will need some help from your friendly neighborhood developer. Ask your developer to please give this class of window a specific, static name. You can point him in the right direction by telling him that he needs to override the “PreCreateWindow” member function of the class. This function allows the developer to override the dynamic class registration before the window is created. He can register a class name of his or your choosing. Once this is done, you now have a static, unique class name that you can use to class map in each instance of this window."

    hope it helps
    best of luck

(If you're doing browser testing, enable your ActiveX extension if there is one.) For each of your custom controls, do a GetPropertyList to see what properties, if any, you can get information about. Then for each property on the list, do a GetProperty. You might also want to check out oleclass.inc in your SilkTest program directory, to see if it applies to you (never found it useful myself but maybe it'll help you). Check to see if you have that included in your startup.inc or not. All in all, I'm not sure whether or not class mapping is what you're looking for.

If your objects are not ActiveX controls, you may need to create an API to let SilkTest get at these objects. The Extension Kit is an easy way for a developer to add an API for SilkTest to use to interact with the objects.

    What controls are these anyway?
