    Silktest on Unix

    Hi All,
I am running silktest 5.3 on Windows 98/NT. Now I want to run silktest on UNIX/Linux. I format, partition and delete windows 98 and install Red Hat Linux and GNOME desktop system on laptop. When I am starting machine I could not see GNOME desktop. There comes login for root user. I create another user but GNOME desktop still not available. I Any Suggestion.....?
    Thank you

    Re: Silktest on Unix

when the login message comes ....login as a user on the commandline...
    then type in startx
    the desktop will be available...

besides if u want to see a graphical login mode u can install tht when u install linux...the mode will be something like the one u get on NT

besides i dont think u can install silktest on linux

    Re: Silktest on Unix

    Pals,

Last time I checked there was no Linux version of SilkTest. The only UNIX version you can get are for Solaris, HP/UX and AIX. Because of the way SilkTest hooks into the OS there needs to be a new build for every version of every OS (on UNIX) and Segue have never done a port to Linux.

True, however you can test on Linux via the silkbean. Not sure if that gets you where you want to be.

    Hi,

SilkBean will work fine on Linux providing your application is Java.

    Re: Silktest on Unix

In SilkTest's Help Find tab, type in Solaris or Unix and you'll see some info although not a lot.
