How do I read a dynamic WindowID during a test ?

    A question for the Gurus.

I am using SilkTest 5.0.3.2 with the Java 1.2.2

My GUI dynamically creates some objects.
I can easily recognize them using tags based on the caption, prior text, or class/index number.

Using "Record Window Declarations", I can see that the Java GUI has dynamically assigned a WindowID that contains some VERY useful information (a database key).

I thought GetTag() might be able to retrieve this for me, but it always retrieves a "fully qualified tag" of the index variety.
(the settings of the defaults in "Record Window Declarations have no effect on this)

SilkTest, obviously, can read Window IDs, or you couldn't use it as a tag.

How do I get the Window ID assigned to a variable in my testware ?

Yes, it works for me too !
    Thanks alot Brian !

I knew that there was some way to do that.

As usual, the SilkTest documentation led me right to the method I wanted *NOT* :-)

    Why I value QAforums :-)
