    Combo Box Problem...

    Hi,
There's is a combo box in the AUT.When i use the select method of the combo class to select a value, though it the value is displayed in the combo at the UI level, internally it does not get updates. But if i use use keyboard events like
TypeKeys("<down>") etc.. it works..is there anyway by which i can select a value directly???

    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh

Can you capture the index of the selection you want to make and then select from the combo by index instead of value?

    Re: Combo Box Problem...

Does the normal (non-automated) selection send the selection event, or do you have to click a submit button? The behavior you describe seems to indicate that.

If that's the case, you can extend the select method to include a TypeKeys("<Enter>") at the end of it.

But, my guess is it's behaving as designed. The developer has to tie the selection to an event to send the updates off.

    See the following post:

HtmlPopup with OnChange Event not Working in Silk 5.5 SP2

It indicates there's a bug within SP2 that might be the issue.

    Re: Combo Box Problem...

    Hi,
Even if I use the index it does not help. Also there is another problem. In the UI code the developers have used the Combo's click event .I think that is the reason for the problem.
Another problem in some cases there is an message box raised by the AUT when a value is chosen in the combo. In those cases the following error occurs :
*** Error: Call to object failed.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Rajesh
