How Java App works with Silk.

    Hi all,

The Silk is unable to recognize any Object or window in testing Java application.
It doesn't display as Custom Win...

I read on QA forums about CLASSPATH, but I don't know how to check it or what need to be done with.
Please, help me with this issue.

    Hi Arlida,

If you type CLASSPATH in the online help there are a number of entries for setting up the classpath - there is also an example. Have a look there first and if you need anymore help contact the forum again.

    Best of luck,
    Conor

Re: How Java App works with Silk.

Which version SilkTest are you using ?

The latest, 5.5, supposedly has a wizard to help with the setup.

Unfortunately, I have not used the wizard, since we are still using version 5.0.3.2.

If you are using a 5.0 version of Silk, and if you Java is simple and standard (a big IF), then you should be able to open your "System" control panel, select the "Environment" tab, look for a variable named CLASSPATH and modify its value to include "c:\Program Files\Segue\SilkTest\JavaEx\SilkTest_Java2.jar;".

What Segue does not seem to realize is that many Java programmers override the system CLASSPATH setting in a batch file. In this case, you will need to manually edit this batch file to add the SilkTest jar file to the CLASSPATH.

Good luck -- let us know if you need more help.

    Thanks, All

I just copy SilkTest_Java2.jar file to the
    CLASSPATH, and it works

    Thanks again for your help.

    Arlida.
