    SilkTest and Applets

    Hi,
I have been using ST to automate Windows applications for quite some time. However this is the first time I am trying to automate a Java applet.
I have a problem. Whenever I record testcases, actions are getting recorded based on co-ordinates. The components are not recognised.
    Eg:
    Click (1, 49, 124)
    TypeKeys ("test")
    get recorded instead of
    TextField("****").SetText ("test")

    What am I doing wrong?
Also I need to capture the text on any popups that my applet might generate. How do I do this?
    Thanks In Advance!

    Re: SilkTest and Applets

Have you set SilkTest up for testing Java? Check the online help (Testing Java Applications and Applets chapter) for instructions on doing this.

    Re: SilkTest and Applets

My whole AUT is a Internet Explore Applet! Silk works just fine with it. The AUT is using JFC controls. ptucker is right a little reading in the silk help about java applets goes a long way.

One thing I would experiment with is switching between vo and dom recording methods to see what Silk likes better.
