query on silktest scripts work if the portal changes after each iteration
I'm automating a portal using silktest. The design is based on an iterative model & the portal seems to change after each Iteration. We have just had the 1st release & my silk scripts seem to work fine.
Well the problem is the portal is going to go through a lot of changes in the next iteration (objects which my present script works on may change). My qns. is will my previous scripts work fine with the new version of the portal.?
How will my .inc file recognise objects which I believe cannot be scripted, but can only be edited because it captures the objects from the portal(recorded).?
Then do I've to do rescripting of my .inc file.?
Re: query on silktest scripts work if the portal changes after each iteration
in theory the only time you should be automating scripts is when the gui has been frozen. in reading your question it appears that this is not the case. i suspect that your existing scripts will work if they call objects which are present both in your frame file and in your application. any objects that have been removed from your application but are referenced by your script file (.t) will fail. good luck!
