Re: Switch DOM to VO causes error

Sorry guy. I have tried switching mid stream too and it doesn't work. I have heard of people being able to get it to work if they shut the browser down as part of the switch and then bring it back up after the switch but that wouldn't work for me because of how my AUT is set up.

What was really scary was that Silk Test was the only tool that could see and deal with the Java Applet that was the Heart of our application. Got my managers to buy SilkTest that way. (he he he) Mid stream the developers went from vo to dom and didn't tell me. All of a sudden I couldn't see the applet any more! I just switched to Dom and then stayed there.

Re: Switch DOM to VO causes error

I've been doing non-browser testing for the past 18 months and am now back on a purely browser based applicaton. Both NS and IE will need to be tested.

I've half watched the various browser discussions over the past year and a half knowing I'd be doing it again someday. So, question for you is, what compelling reason would I have for wanting to do VO testing at all? There must be some scenario where this is preferable, but what is it?

Re: Switch DOM to VO causes error

the compelling reason for vo is that netscape does not support the document object model (dom). so if your true requirement is to support both browsers better pick vo.

Re: Switch DOM to VO causes error

I've not seen/used it yet, but my understanding is that the latest Netscape does use DOM. Is this incorrect?

I think it's for NS 6 it support DOM.

Who is still using NS? Anyhow VO is not that bad.

    GK,

NS has certainly fallen way behind in user share, however that may change shortly. Evidently the new integrated AOL browser is a NS browser.
