    Starting Browser in Silk

    Hi,

    I am very new to Silk. I have recorded a web application using the Record-Testcase. When I run the script, the script is looking for the application main page. My browser has diffrent page set as Home page.

    Anybody, please let me know how do I start the browser and give specific URL within the script.( I worked on WinRunner earlier, the equvialant in WR is invoke_brower)

    Thanks in advance.

    Raj

    Re: Starting Browser in Silk

    Hi Raj,
    In inc file you need to type
    const sLocation = "URL". When you recording test fram file and open UAT it will record itself url. In script file if you want open browser as BrowserPage.SetActive(). It will open same url as in inc file.
    Thank you

    Re: Starting Browser in Silk

    Hi Raj,
    I had automated something similar. This is the logic I used.
    Step1: Invoke Browser and stop the loading of your default Home Page
    *********
    [ ] Browser.Invoke()
    [ ] //IE invoked
    [ ] BrowserPage.SetActive ()
    [ ] //Focus brought to IE
    [ ] Browser.StopLoading()
    [ ] //Stop Loading of default page
    [ ] LogWarning("Browser Loading Stopped")

    Step 2: Then load the page of your choice by specifying the URL
    [ ] String sLocn="www.qaforums.com"
    [ ] String sUser="test"
    [ ] String sPassword="test"
    [ ] LogWarning("Invoking www.qaforums.com")
    [ ] Browser.LoadPage(sLocn,sUser,sPassword)

    Note: The username and password are optional. If prompted by the browser, SilkTest hunts for them (in this case sUser and sPassword) and tries to get authenticated, else it proceeds with loading the URL.

    Hope this Helps
