\"Partner has caused an error in PARTNER.EXE...\"

I keep getting the error message "Partner has caused an error in PARTNER.EXE. Partner will now close." while executing my scripts. I haven't yet discovered any pattern (sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't), but I am testing a new app that has some memory leaks, so I wonder if that has something to do with it...

Also, Silk crashes, but the Agent still seems to be running.

Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas? I am running Silk 5.0.3.2 and the crashes have happened on both W2K and 98.

I have also seen "Pointer is invalid or heap is corrupt" messages too.

    Hi,

This is the issue when yr application under test is having issues with memory. Ask yr developers to fix those issues by setting the unused objects to nothing like that. Its good idea to log off and log in between any two major executions.

    Thanks, Sree.

I have been stopping and starting my application between testcases to help deal with memory leaks in the app. This seems to help, but only somewhat. Any other suggestions?

Re: \"Partner has caused an error in PARTNER.EXE...\"

Fortunately, my testware is now stable, but every once in a while I make a change that starts giving me these "partner.exe" crashes. Then I need to backtrack and figure out which of my recent changes did it.

Just a few days ago, I got repeated "partner.exe" crashes.
It turned out that I was passing an invalid handle to SetMachine().
