    Workaround for IE crashing

    User jeffavaya (jeffreygreen@avaya.com.nospam) posted:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to workaround this IE crash
problem with Silktest 5.5 and IE 5.5. It seems that on my web
application that I test. I have 3 htmltables which I have some links
inside the table. When I try and click on about 4th link or so, I get
IE error which restarts IE. Silktest gives a message Interal error in
agent. Read past end of buffer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Jeff

It seems that silk ran out of memory or something. Is it possible to grab all your link reference. Disable table recognition and access these links like BrowserPage.HtmlLink().Click().

Is your page full of tables? Maybe too many reference. How do you access your links give me a sample code.

    Jeff,
Did U find the solution? Yours is an interesting case. getrowtext command just fetches the text within that particular row. But, the problem seems to be with IE. Whether Agent extension is set for DOM objects or just virtual objects?

    Jaimini,

I did find the solution. By not using the getrowtext command that got
rid of the IE crash. I do not believe that IE is the problem, it is
    Silktest that is causing.
Because you do not get the crash when doing the same actions manually.
By the way I was set for DOM objects

    Hi Jeff,

Can U try (just for knowing it for sure) using getrowtext with virtual object? I suspect that if Silk is set for DOM objects, it gives problems. Because, I had used getrowtext during silktest 5.0.1 and it had worked fine.

The one thing that I have noticed is some of the technology that our
    application uses. For instance,
I was getting crashes when I logout of the application and back in. Some
of our application uses a software
package called Netegrity. What I noticed was we had an upgrade to this
software package, and the number of crashes
has reduced. I still get them but it is a lot less
