    Unable to get URL listed in new Test frame ...

    User venugopalmvs (venugopalmvs@yahoo.com.nospam) posted:

    Hi All...

    I am a newbie trying to learn use of silktest to test web
    applications however
    I am having a problem to make silktest identify web applications
    correctly.

    I have installed browser extensions.

    Under options->Extension IE5 is enabled
    Under options->Runtime -> Default browser is IE5

    However when I try to do File->New Test Frame
    I always see "Command line" (instead of URL) for IE5.
    Thus Silktest is not identifying the Web applications.

    I am using Windows Me and SilkTest 5.0.1
    Is there any other setting to enable browser extensions.

    When iam trying to test web application, iam getting one problem to
    recognize the IE5.0. even iam trying to check all the possible
    combinations in the Enable Extenssions of Internet Explorer 5.0
    check box : like Virtual Object, IE5.0 DOM,
    at the same time iam also checking in the Options->Runtime: Default
    Browser option set to IE 5.o, IE 5.0 DOM, IE Virtual Object ...almost
    all the options i checked .. but the problem is iam always seeing the
    const sCmdLine = "C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE"
    but not the Website Address.
    can any one find some time to help me out from this problem???

    on the taskbar if iam checking the Agent by right clicking on it and
    Agent -> Extenssions->Details...iam not finding any Extenssions
    Enabled.

    Thanks In Advance...

    Venu,

    This is a very common problem when for the first time you try silk recognize the web browser. Possible culprits:
    1. UnInstall Silk
    2. In windows ME i.e. a refined version of 98, Active Desktop causes it. So, disable it.
    3. reInstall Silk.
    4. Double check with the Options both of SilkTest and Agent.
    5. Run the Browser, it will be able to recognize it.
