Does this mean that Segue tech support people will all be certified and that 'quality' support will just be a phone call away (even if Support is located somewhere in Ireland)? Well, let's all hope that'll be the case!
Cost for experienced customers/those who have taken all SilkTest courses required for certification:
EXAM I $150.00
EXAM II $200.00
Additionally, if you feel proficient enough in SilkTest and don't feel you need to take the courses, but want to obtain course manuals they can be purchased for $350 for each course.
As for the test itself:
Exam 1 is a written exam, that we plan to eventually offer online. Exam 2 will be a 'hands-on' test in which the student will need to work against an application under test and prove that he/she knows how to create a test frame, window declarations, application states, invokes, use looping and branching techniques, etc., along with demonstrating a knowledge of some of the topics covered in the advanced courses. We will be offering both exams starting in January.
Your last question - about the compiler - you will definitely use SilkTest for the second Exam, but Exam 1 is written - you will not actually use SilkTest during it.
Hope this helps! If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our training department and they will help you out.
According to their website, you don't have to take the courses if you've taken them within the last 2 years. It also doesn't mention a thing about purchasing course materials on your own instead of attending classes.
But if what Pontoriero's rep says is true, then that is a little more reasonable and they should mention that on their site.
