Someone please help... silktest files included.

    Hi,

Problem : Silktest isn't properly recognizing the objects in the application I am testing. Objects on one tab will be confused with other objects on another tab.

Can someone help me with this issue? I have spent too much time on this already. I need to get this working.

    Thanks,

    Patrick Briand

I think the index tags (#) are messing you up. I would go with the window id tags ($). I never had a lot of luck with multitags either. You might try regular tags.

I tried using Window ID's, however the application will be tested on multiple platforms. The ID changes on each machine, and, sometimes, on each launch of the application. That particular identifier is too unreliable for me to use.

I agree with tmason. First turn off the multitags, if you do not NEED them they will usually mess you up.

It is really hard to say what type of tag is best without seeing your app.

Window IDs tags are the most reliable, but can be a maintenance headache.
For cross platform testing with window ID tags use GUI specifiers and include window ID tags for each platform.
