Field Length Error?
I am using SilkTest 5.0.3 on a VB 6 application and I'm using a SQL Server 7 database to hold the test data. I had some fields that were set to a max length of 100 characters and I got an error when I tried to enter a 108 character string. I figured that I just needed to lengthen my fields in the database and it would be fixed, it hasn't worked.
It seems like SilkTest is holding on to the old data definition on the field. When I enter 99 characters and run the script, it runs fine, 101 fails. Entering data directly into the SQL Server now allows the 250 character limit that I set.
The universal fix-all of shutting everything down and restarting hasn't helped. The connection string to the database looks like this:
Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.
Re: Field Length Error?
I deleted and recreated the ODBC datasource to the SQL Server database and the problem went away. Maybe it had gotten corrupted, but it works now.
