*** Error: Window was not found

    Hi All,

I keep getting "Error: Window was not found" error message.

All my testcase is doing is using the CaptureBitmap function to capture a graph on the screen. It has been declared correctly and I have no idea why I keep getting this error, if the window does exist.

    Can someone help me...

This sort of message usually indicates that you do not have the correct window name in the function call. Can you put the code up so I can see how you are calling the function and I may be able to offer a bit more help.

When this situation occurs I usually re-declare the window with a different tag type. The window id tag (starting with $) seems to work in most situations.

In the SilkTest Online Help under Troubleshooting, there's a topic called "Window not found" (with Solutions).
Maybe this will give you a good starting point!

    Thanks for the replies.

I've noticed something else in regards to this.

Everytime I declare the window it declares the tags differently everytime. What I have done, is use "*" within the tag. This worked for a while but later gave me the same error "Window was not found".

It isn't a timing issue as the window is displayed straight away.

Not sure what to do now??????

Sounds like your developers are not using static control id's. If you can't use the windows title bar as the tag, you need to speak to your developers and tell them you need the id to be static.
