Silk 5.5 SP1 not recognizing browser contents after second browser instance is closed

In Silk 5.5 SP1 Segue fixed a few bugs but they seem to have introduced a new one:

    1. Open a browser page that contains a link which opens a another browser window.

    2. Close the current browser window.

    3. Silk now no longer sees the contents of the first browser page.

Silk sees the browser content fine in SilkTest 5.5 but NOT in SP1. Anybody else experience this? And more importantly are there any workarounds? Thanks.

whick JDK u r using Silk may be having issues with 1.3x (I guess). Did u record the declarations in frame or inc file? I suppose u did, even then it gives then its a bug

Re: Silk 5.5 SP1 not recognizing browser contents after second browser instance is closed

I forgot to mention I was using IE5 DOM. The JDK is 1.18 but I'm not using Java so that is not the problem. I came up with a crude workaround: whenever I close the top level browser window I do a Browser.TypeKeys("<alt-left>") and Browser.TypeKeys("<alt-right>"). This performs a browser back and forward which gets Silk seeing the page content again. Anyone have a better solution?

Just do a refresh to the browser, saves you 1 line of code I am thinking that silk is confused with which windows Browser class is pointing to. Browser, and BrowserPage are generic IE/NS declarations. It's like when you have several browser open and you run BrowserPage.HtmlLink("#1").GetName() which browser will silk pick?

Re: Silk 5.5 SP1 not recognizing browser contents after second browser instance is closed

Thanks for the reply. Refresh didn't get silk seeing the page content again. which is why I had to do a back and forward. I've also had problems when javascript from the top browser window changes content on the bottom browser window - Silk simply goes into an endless wait. the only thing that has worked for me in this instance is to use Desktop.Typekey commands to close the top window. Any other ideas?
