Try searching this site for the words "intervention", "interrupt", "wait", and/or "halt".

You can also check out the thread at http://www.qaforums.com/Forum1/HTML/002674.html -- as it was one of the more recent ones to talk about this.

    Thanks Brent,
I have gone the link you have pointed, I am not looking for programming techniques for this. I need some thing similar to pressing both shifts for aborting the script execution.

    Re: pause silk test script

Look up Agent.DisplayMessage in the Help or 4Test reference.

This will display a modal dialog with caption and message you desire.

Do your manual actions, then click the OK button and execution will continue.

If you click Cancel, then the script aborts like a "double shift" operation.

What issue are you trying to resolve?

    Re: pause silk test script

To abort a script, just do an AppError(sMessage). That will abort the current testcase.

To prompt the user to abort or continue, search for the Halt function that I have posted to this form. This will allow you to display a message in a dialog, with OK and Cancel. OK will continue the test, Cancel will abort everything. This is based on the Agent.DisplayMessage method.

    Re: pause silk test script

As you can tell from the intervening posts ... the only way to do what you're proposing is "through code".

There isn't any magic key combination that will momentarily pause things, I'm afraid.

I'm guessing you want to pause things "at will" and then continue. Sadly, Silk doesn't really support that. You can code explicit "pauses" using the Agent.DisplayMessage() mechanism or other similar approaches -- but beyond that it's "all or nothing". Either you run to completion or you abort by hitting "Shift-Shift".

It would be an interesting enhancement for the Segue folks to look into, though ...

    Re: pause silk test script

To pause a silk script I select a silk menu item i.e. file, menu, edit etc and it seems to pause the current running script.

    Have a go.
