Use File scope in 4Test !

    Hi ,

    I have say two inc files;
    a.inc
    b.inc both contains use 'extend\explorer.inc'

I have a thirt c.t file which contains
    use a.inc and use b.inc.

Can this create a problem since explorer.inc
    gets included twice .

The file c.t compiles fine on my SilkTest Setup.

But i mailed the scripts to the client who also using SilkTest 5.5 sp1 DOM just like mine.
But he is getting compilation errors like
    Variable DEFAULT_CURSOR is already defined
    in module javaex.inc
Variable CROSSHAIR_CURSOR is already defined in module javaex.inc etc.

I was wondering if what i mentioned above could be the cause of the problem .
But if thats true Dont know why scripts
    are compiling on my machine.
Also in C i can easily include the same file twice and still it would run fine .So thought the same would be true for 4Test .

    Any pointers .

Happy And Prosperous new year to all of you.

    Thanx in advance,
    sandeep

Re: Use File scope in 4Test !

First, theck what their runtime settings are for the "Use Files" (Options | Runtime). Chances are, they have something defined there that you have defined in your file.

An alternitive approach is to have one file that includes all of your "use" statements. Then, just put that one file in the Runtime "Use Files" section. All of your other files will not need to have a "use" statement .

Re: Use File scope in 4Test !

    Thanx David,
I did check up my options/runtime use files.
    Nothing in there .

My Basic question if By mistake i include the same file twice .Would i get Compilation errors .

I remember getting errors when i used to put a .inc file in options/runtime use files ,
And also include the same file using the use
    syntax in the script.

But in my new SilkTest 5.5 sp1 Setup .I am not getting compilation errors for the same scenario.
    Also i pasted i.e
use 'extend\explorer.inc' twice in the same .inc file and tried compiling it .
    The compilation was successful.

Is there any configuration setting on my stup Bcoz of which SilkTest is ignoring the second include ??

    Thanx in advance,
    sandeep
