    Modularity in Test Scripts!

    Hi All,
I am new to the QA process .And getting accustomed to SilkTest 5.5 SP1.
    I have a testScript .t say A.t file which i need to use in Other .t (say X.t ,Y.t)files.
My Requirement is i need to run A.t before i
    run X.t ,Y.t.
right Now what i have done is i have pasted
    the code in A.t in both X.t ,Y.t .
Anyway i can getAround this .

    Thanx,
    Sandeep

Yes there is. You can use .inc files. Put modular code in .inc files and then use those .inc files in .t files. From the .t file you simply call the function in the .inc file that needs to be run. I have found that most of my code lives in .inc files. I have several functions. When I need to create a .t file, I simply include the necessary .inc files and call the functions needed.

    Sandeepb,

Yes you certainly can put functions in there. My approach is to have a shared include file that the whole QA department accesses for their scripts. Dozens of shared functions are placed in here.
