Testing Java applet that uses Symantec classes

    User Ashish (ashpal001@yahoo.com.nospam) posted:

    Hi all,
I have an Applet that uses Symantec classes and JRE 1.3.1. Silk is not able
to identify the objects in the applet. I am working on a WinNT workstation
and Silk5.0.3. I have placed the path of SilkTest_Java2.jar and my applet's
.jar file in the User Environment CLASSPATH variable. What else is needed to
    be done? Please advise.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ashish Palkar

    Ashish,

Silktest does that whenever your Java application is wrapped around by another layer and in this case it is html.
    You need to ensure:
    1. Classpath - you have done
    2. Path of location where your development and silktest jars's are kept
    3. Ensure that your applet is compiled including the Silktest jar.
    4. Check the status whether all the jars containing your applets are loaded or not?

PS. I am looking for a job - anyone who can help, please find attached my resume.

    Ashish,

    Try this...

Locate the file sfc.jar and get that thing in your classpath. Then try it again. This is the symantec foundation classes jar file. This should work in WinTel, but is not supported by the SilkBean if you plan to test with that.
