    Re: Silk - Results Repository

Hi, Shalini. When you say 'Results Repository' are you referring to SilkTest or SilkPerformer? SilkTest doesn't use a Results Repository, specifically speaking.

And what exactly do you mean by "the same" in the following question?....
"Can someone tell me what I am suposed to do for the same?"

    Re: Silk - Results Repository

I am guessing that Shalini is refering to the "unsupported" Results Repository that is with SilkTest 5.03 and above.

The database that is used is Microsoft MSDE. This is the same basic engine that MS SQL Server uses, but it has not GUI interface. You need to do everything through an ODBC connection. It also has a limitation of only 2 GB of data. You can go to Microsoft to get more information on MSDE.

You can continue to use that database, or use any other database that you want.

To add other tables or columns to the database, take a look at the ResultsDB.inc script.

Then you just need to modify the ResultViewer ASP pages to display the information that you added into the database.

    Re: Silk - Results Repository

Do you have any advice on tweaking the ASP files? Any examples you could share with us? I want to create a table with verbose descriptions of each test case, and link it to the test case names, so that my developers can see exactly what each test case does.
I think the HTML ResultsViewer using ASP is really the way to go, I just wish I knew more aout how to customize it !

    Re: Silk - Results Repository

Yes we do have results repository in Silk Test 5.5. As I saw not much of customization there as it comes with lot of default reports based on your test script generation.

Does anyone know where can I find the mentioned "ResultsDB.inc" file? I am using version 5.5; has it been renamed, removed, or changed?

    Re: Silk - Results Repository

If you installed SilkTest in the default location, then the file would be in:

    C:\Program Files\Segue\SilkTest\resultsDB

    Re: Silk - Results Repository

I have used the new repositiry a little, but it was not flexible enough for my needs. If you have special needs or need a specific report, create your own database, that way you control the data being stored and what kinds of output you want to create.

    For something quick try Access.
