SilkTest 5.5 Results Repository
Can some tell me whether SilkTest Results Viewer is needed to use SilkTest Results Repository?.
While installing the Results Repository, it did not allow me to install Results Viewer.
Re: SilkTest 5.5 Results Repository
Yes, and no.
You need to "manually" configure the ResultsViewer. There should be ample documentation in the directory to get you started -- assuming you are somewhat web-savvy.
Do you need it to view results, no. You can write your own browser-based UI, or you can use the DB_* routines in Silk to create a textual report, or you can use your favorite MS SQL Server front-end to access your data, or ... you get the idea.
It's all just data in a SQL database -- the schema (which isn't perfect, but can easily be modified as you need) is all there in the include file.
I used it (the database and the viewer) as the starting point for building a more detailed set of data and a "tailored" UI.
