AutoAdminlogon for a local user
I'm trying to use the AutoAdminLogon feature on an NT4 machine and it's behaving strangely. My machine is on a domain but I'm setting the Autoadminlogon in the registry to logon to the local machine with a local user. When I do this the machine will autologon properly once but then the AutoAdminLogon value in the registry is set to "0" (off) and a second reboot will fail to logon. I can't imagine what is causing this registry value to be set back to "0". It seems that logging in as a domain user is succesful, but not a local user.
Re: AutoAdminlogon for a local user
OK, I can answer my own question. I was trying to use a blank password, which is fine for the login, but not fine for the autoadminlogon feature. After adding a real password it works.
Happy Diwali everyone.
