Mouse-over control: tool tip boxes: verification

    Hi,

Pl enlighten regarding the means of verifying the tool tip boxes that appear when mouse is pointed to a control ( this appears for few seconds - 5 secs).

    Thanks.

The GetHelpText() method, applied to your control, will return the tooltip help text associated with it.
BTW: The tooltip do not become visible when the test runs.

I have seen something like your problem with Visual Basic applications when the developers did not implement the tooltip using correct VB properties.

Need more details then -- What kind of control ? What language is application written with ? What kind of application ? What version of SilkTest ? Might need to know what version of Windows ?

Re: Mouse-over control: tool tip boxes: verification

I do not have any actual experience with htmllinks in javascript.

In general, I would say that Silk 5.0.1 has trouble with uncommon methods on odd Java controls (adding Java support was a rush job for Segue then).

I would suggest that you get the updaters for SilkTest 5.0.3.2. It works a lot better with Java.

I have not seen any Java enhancements with Silk 5.5 that make it worth the installation hassle.

    Keep us posted .....

Re: Mouse-over control: tool tip boxes: verification

Tried with Silk 5.0.3.2 but the result is same.
    GetHelpText () gave 0x0 0x0
sCaption gives the caption & not the help text(which is seen in title when you view the source).
