    Visual FoxPro

    Will SilkTest work on applications written in Visual Foxpro?

    Thanks

    Re: Visual FoxPro

    Last year when we started doing an evaluation, I couldn't find one automation tool that directly supported FoxPro. They will all do record/playback, but this is limited and resolution dependent. Good luck!

    Re: Visual FoxPro

    Hi all,

    Anybody know whether FoxPro apps can be tested? This is the only post I found within the group regarding FoxPro.

    I have set up my extensions to include the *.exe file and primary extensions as none, with ActiveX extensions enabled... but nothing is recognized. The window is captured as CustomWin, and not picking up the objects.

    Thanks in advance.

    Neither Silk nor Visual Test will recognize any objects within FoxPro based apps.

    Re: Visual FoxPro

    Thanks Tony, unfortunately you are right.

    Here is the response I've had back from support.

    SilkTest does not work particularly well with FoxPro applications as they
    use dynamic classing which SilkTest does not handle well at all. However
    you should be able to manipulate these applications using low-level SilkTest
    methods e.g. the silktest TypeKeys() method (used with the keyboard
    controls), and coordinates Click() methods.

    Oh well...
