    Test EXE

    hi...
I always surprised why we can not make exe of our test scripts.
I thought over it again and again but can't get a valid answer. As Silk Test uses 4GL and its also a language like Java or C++ and you can make exes(or something similar to this) in almost all the languages.
Why we can not do this in Silk or Winrunner?
The simplest answer i got the vendors of these does not provide this facility
Is there any logic behind the scene?

The logic is that the vendors would like you to buy their product and install it on every machine you use for testing. That way, they can make more money. Otherwise you would buy one license and use a single machine to build executable test programs.

This is not so unreasonable, is it?

    Re: Test EXE

    hmm... not a bad reason
But I'm talking about the possibilty of some technical reasons that might stopped them doing so.

Nope - there are no technical reasons, only business reasons.

Rational Visual Test is capable of creating executables. No technical reason that Silk or any other tool couldn't do so as well.
