    Not recognizing textfields

    User (jeffreygreen@avaya.com.nospam) posted:

In my web application I am testing, there is a table which contains
textfields. The problem I encounter if for example a textfield for
that row does not contain any text silktest does not recognize that
text field. This causes me to be unable to verify that the textfield
should not have any text associated with it. Does anyone know how to
    get around this?

    Thanks
    Jeff

    Re: Not recognizing textfields

I don't know if this is exactly the same situation, but I have run into a similar issue with Java tables. Since it is indeed a table, in some cases, Silk sees it as a cell and in other cases as a text field. I have had some success using ClickCell to set the cursor on the cell, and then calling GetText on it as a text field. I have been unable to determine what causes Silk to see it one way or the other.

    Hi Jeffrey,

Declare the Table as HtmlTable class instead of accessing each as
textfields. Then start accessing each field value of each Row. You have
"GetRowText" method available for this class, which will return you a List.
You can get each field value by specifying the List Index. Please feel free
to ask me if you face any problems in doing this.

    Best Regards,
    Pandiyan

    Re: Not recognizing textfields

If the table doesn't have borders, set DOM borderless table setting to 0. Then the tables will cease to be an issue !!!
