    Different Window Declarations

    Hi All,

When I take a window declaration for a webpage on one PC, I sometimes get a different declaration for the same webpage on a different PC. I'm using the same version of Silktest, with the same options file.

    Please help.

I take it you mean the tags keep changing?

Sounds like your developers aren't using static control id's. You may want to talk to them.

    Re: Different Window Declarations

I don't know if that will help my case. For example, when I do a window identifier on my PC, it will see a PushButton as a PushButton, but then on another PC when I do a window identifier I see the same PushButton as text. Why does this happen?? Both machines are running the same OS and same version of Silktest.

    Re: Different Window Declarations

This can happen when the extension isn't fully loaded on the system. There are other possible causes, but this is the most frequent.

Make sure that the extension settings are the same in both the SilkTest/Options/Extensions dialog and in the Extension Enabler dialog.

It is also more reliable to use the DOM extension for IE.
