Old problem in a new Bottle - IE 5.5

    Hello,
I've been a going through these forums for quite a while now and i must admit that sum really nice solutions have come forward.
How can i retrive the version of IE from Silk. The version of Silk that i'm using is 5.0.1 and IE 5.5.
I've tried using the SYS_GetRegistryValue. It very much gave me the desired results in Win 95/98 but when i switched onto Win2k it gave me no value as in Win2k the registry value is diffrent.
Is there a way to tackle this ????

You can use the function GetBrowserType ()
Details are in the help files

Thanks Col. I tried the same and on IE 5.0 it gave me the correct version but on IE 5.5 it gave gave the version for IE 5.0. I'll again mention that the Silk ver is 5.0.1 and the OS is Win2000 proffessional.Probably it would work on the Win98 os. I havent tried it there but soon shall.
    But thanks anyways.

You could read the version from the registry. I don't know if it's in the same location in every flavor of Windows, but that would be pretty easy to code for.

Below is the function I have been using for some time to get the actual browser version (by getting it from the registry).

    Hope this helps.
