    DOM & VO

    hello friends,
    i've just started working on silk test.
    I am not getting the funda of DOM & VO.
    when i am framing in DOM (IE:5.5)& in VO (IE:5.5),it is recognizing some of the objects total differently.Like it may recognize some object as HTMLTEXT in DOM but same object as HTMLHEADING in VO.what v r supposed to do here.
    Can someone plz tell me what exactly v have to do for our script to run in both DOM as well as VO ?
    regards,
    jays

    Re: DOM & VO

    U can not run same scripts on VO an DOM. Record window declarations in VO so that u can use on all browsers. Vo & DOM are not cross compatible.

    Re: DOM & VO

    You can handle both VO and DOM in several ways.

    1) Use switch GetCurrentBrowser () to branch based on the browser.

    switch GetCurrentBrowser ()
    {
    case explorer5_DOM
    // code here
    case explorer
    // VO Code here
    }

    2) Add explorer5_DOM (or other) tags to your objects.

    HtmlTextField User
    explorer5_DOM tag "$user"
    explorer tag "#1"

    3) Place explorer5_DOM (or other) statements before certain objects are declared.

    explorer5_DOM HtmlHeading Welcome
    tag "Welcome"
    netscape HtmlText Welcome
    tag "Welcome"

    Hope this helps
