    Link Recognition

    User kavita (kavita@prabodhan.com.nospam) posted:

I am trying to test a web application using silk test. Problem is - silk test is not able to recognize the links which are not underlined.
It is simply treating those links as a part of Browserchild class. Can anybody tell me that how can I click on those links without specifying the co-ordinates as they are giving problem on the other machines.

    Regards,
    Kavita

    Re: Link Recognition

Did u set the extensions properly. If its recognizing the main window as browser child window then it should recognize the links as HtmlLink. Tryreinstallig Silk and do. Sometimes it does work.

BTW, where are you from Kavitha?

    Re: Link Recognition

    I have few questions first.......

    1. Whats the OS you are working on....

    2. Are you sure that the window is really a HtmlLink ... I mean to say in the source is any HREF existing?

    3. Is the link identified as Heading or Text??

I dont assure you that these questions may solve your problem.... but I'll try my level best todo that....

    Waiting for an immediate reply....

    Thanks
    Baseer
    ...Hope You remembered me

    Re: Link Recognition

    Hi Kavita,
There is possibility that you have configured your browser not to underline links. SilkTest requires that links should be underlined.Ckeck the browser options.
    Thank you
    Pal

    Re: Link Recognition

    you can try:
    1. typecasting the text into links, although you can also click on the HtmlText, if that is what SilkTest sees it as. Do an advanced search on this forum, there is a lot of stuff about this.
    2. You can ask your developers to underline the text so that SilkTest sees it as a link Automatically.
    3. if your links are in tables or images, use the aeweb.inc file supplied as a download on this forum that has a bunch of funcitons that do the work for you.

    Re: Link Recognition

IF you use VO extension, there are several user options which you can disable the text grouping, thus you can get individual text pieces instead a block of text. I could only remember one of them JoinTextBlock.
