    SilkTest and Windows XP

Has anyone had a chance to see if Silktest will run on Windows XP? This could be for either Browser based or Client Server.

I will shortly need to do some testing of XP in client/server configurations as follows:

    Win2k Client/WinXP server (Oracle DB)
    WinXP Client/Win2k server
    WinXP Client and Server

    Any feedback would be helpfull.

    Tom

    Re: SilkTest and Windows XP

I tried it at a client a little while ago and it worked. No guarantee if it'll still work as XP (and Silk) may have changed since then. I think it was ST 5.03 and an earlier beta of XP.

    Re: SilkTest and Windows XP

Recently on-site at a major ISP I ran Silktest 5.5 on XP with great results. My SilkTest 5.0.3.2 scripts ran on 5.5 with no modification.

    Re: SilkTest and Windows XP

    Thank you,

I have gone ahead with an XP environment and will give it a shot for Client/Server (WinXP fromt end Silktest 5.03.2). If I have any major problems I will report back to this thread.

    Re: SilkTest and Windows XP

I ran SilkTest 5.0.2 on the build 2505 Eval Copy of XP Professional in a client/server environment without any real problems. The only problem I had is if I had the 'Windows and Buttons' set to 'Windows XP Style' in the Display Properties. SilkTest was unable to recognize the Minimize, Maximize, and Close Box. I was able to work around it by setting it to 'Windows Classic' style.

Any other work-arounds besides setting to "Windows Classic" style?

    Re: SilkTest and Windows XP

Preliminary support for XP was part of the SilkTest Service Pack 1 released last month. However, not all of the themes are supported in SP1. I believe support for themes may be limited to just Classic. There will be a HotFix release for SilkTest early in Q1 that will have more comprehensive support for XP - to include all of the themes.
