    Java App. Recognition on SilkTest 5.01

    Please Help Anyone;

    I currently have SilkTest 5.01. When defining testframe, SilkTest does not recognize the objects(i.e. buttons, menu item) of my JavaApp.

    I installed JRE already but do not know how to set my ClassPath.

    Assuming my Java App is "The JavaApp" in location "c:\program files\Java Application".

    How do I set my ClassPath.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Java App. Recognition on SilkTest 5.01

    Could someone help me out -- I really need help.

    I did lots of reading (from the Forum and also from the Help), and I think I did everything right -- yet it's not right.

    I have SUN's latest JAVA RunTime installed
    Enable Java & added JAVA.EXE in the extension enabler and also in Option menu.

    Here's what I get from the status:

    Checking on system settings...
    Java Version: 1.1.4
    Java Vendor: Microsoft Corp.
    OS Name: Windows NT
    OS Arch: x86
    OS Version: 5.0

    Checking on SilkTest Java Status...
    Version=5.0.2
    SilkTest_Java2.jar found.
    Special pre-release version. Performance enhanced level 3.
    ERROR! You are running JDK1.1, but SilkTest_Java2.jar
    was found in your classpath. You must use
    SilkTest_Java1.jar with JDK1.1
    Due to security reasons, the classpath is not accessible.

    At this point, I still could not get the "TestFrame" to recognize the Standalone Java App.

    Please, pretty please

    Re: Java App. Recognition on SilkTest 5.01

    In order to help, please post the following:
    --Is the application lauched by a batch file or a exe file?
    --WHAT version of JAVA is it?

    Sorry to be the jerk here but...
    If your looking for QUICK, EASY, answers then dont even bother trying to use SILK. Silk is very complicated-- granted, setup one of the harder parts, it is not the hardEST. Anyhow, Segue has great documention on how to get it to work with JAVA in the online help and manual. This is one of the reasons WHY you may not of gotten help on this topic.

    Re: Java App. Recognition on SilkTest 5.01

    if you look at your error message, you have set the wrong jar file in your classpath. Change it to the "SilkTest_java1.jar".

    Also, did you run the certificate install?
    Silktest -> other tools -> Cert. Install...
