    Getting Java App to recognize by SilkTest

    Please Help Please;

    I am currently using SilkTest 5.01

    I am trying to write script for a JavaApplication. When declaring testframe, SilkTest does not recognize all the objects & menu item.

    I checked and understand that I need to set the ClassPath.

    However, don't know how -- my app. is in a very long file/path name.

    I installed the JRE already.

    Let's assume my app. is called "c:\program files\the application\javaapplication.exe"

    How would I go about setting the ClassPath.

    Or get to a point where SilkTest could recognize the objects in my App.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Getting Java App to recognize by SilkTest

    This is one of the common questions that comes up for a lot of people. You can do a search on this forum for 'java' and 'classpath' and you will find a lot of good information. This one in particular covers all the problems that I encountered ...

    If you need to set your classpath through windows, go through the help on the machine you are using. Different versions of windows set the classpath differently. If you need to set it in a .bat file, it is a simple text editor change.

    Re: Getting Java App to recognize by SilkTest

    While class path insertion is reasonably well defined in the Silk setup docs, you likely have a couple other rather subtle issues.

    Exactly how your java application includes the segue_silktest?.jar file is the first one. Some applications require that the silk jar file merely exist in the same folder as the the other jar files for the application; others require that you modify one of the property files to include it. The quickest way to determine which is needed is to discuss the application's requirement with someone in your development group.

    You will also need to know exactly what will appear in the TaskManager window (NT assumed) so that that application name can be added to Silk's Options/Extensions dialog AND to the Extension Enabler in the Silk folder.

    Re: Getting Java App to recognize by SilkTest

    I have Windows 2000.

    This is what I got in the status:

    Checking on system settings...
    Java Version: 1.1.4
    Java Vendor: Microsoft Corp.
    OS Name: Windows NT
    OS Arch: x86
    OS Version: 5.0

    Checking on SilkTest Java Status...
    Version=5.0.2
    SilkTest_Java1.jar found.
    Special pre-release version. Performance enhanced level 3.
    Due to security reasons, the classpath is not accessible.

    The extension for Java Application is Enable

    At this point, I still cannot define my testframe correctly.

    Thanks
