    Window is not unique...

I'm reposting an earlier question because I may not have explained it well enough, or perhaps I'm just too obtuse to understand the solution.

I have a Swing app with a menu item that allows the user to open a second session of itself. So I have the same identical application open twice. I know with a browser I can flip back and forth between two instances. However, with this Swing app, I'm getting the error message that the window is not unique, so Silk cannot manipulate or even identify it.

What's the workaround for this, if any?

    Re: Window is not unique...

Try this first: use the app with [1]..[n].
    Ex: MyApp[1], MainWin("MyApp[2]").GetCaption

I would try this one too:

pre-condition: only these program should be open. Silk, silk agent, your Swing apps.

use [alt-tab] to move between Swing app
    Get your Swing app;
    use MainWin("#1").GetCaption or GetName
    loop
if not what you want do [alt-tab 1]
    [alt-tab 2]..[alt-tab n] if necessary.

Refuse to reference your app by name if Silk doesn't index your app's name. Like Notepad[1], Notepad[2]...

    Re: Window is not unique...

You can stop silk throwing this error by setting the OPT_VERIFY_UNIQUE Agent Option.

The agent uses the first window it encouters with the tag. You should be able to get around this with one of the previously mentioned approaches.

    SWEET!

Yes! Using the Agent.SetOption(OPT_VERIFY_UNIQUE, FALSE) method, I'm able to manipulate both applicatons simultaniously!

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I feel somewhat silly for not having been able to solve this on my own, but then, hey... that's the beauty of this forum. No?
