Drop down list is seen as a unique dialog box...

Java Swing application has a drop down list with dynmic content. It is seen as a drop down list (or I guess Silk calls `em popup lists) but once it is "dropped down" the list of items is being viewed as a separate and unique dialog box. As such, none of the items in the list are selectable because it is no longer a popup list.

I've NEVER seen this happen before. Anything like this sound familiar?

sounds a bit like the drop down menus in the Microsoft Management Console. Silk sees them as dialog boxes with no contents. We had to ask our developer to use short cut keys for every menu item.

I found that if the drop down list is inside the bounds of the parent window then it is recognised correctly but if even a part of it is out side the bounds then silk sees it as a separate dialog.

I have seen the same thing, testing with Silk 5.0.3 and JDK 1.2.2. It means I have to increase the size the parent window before invoking the drop-down -- a real pain.

Please let me know if this is fixed in Silk 5.5. It might convince me to upgrade.
