Function to convert Res file to HTML

Is there a function that can be used to convert the results file to a HTML file or a function using which we can write each Test Case results to a HTML file

Any help or tips in this direction is appreciated.

    Thanks

I've just overloaded the Print() method in Silk by writing everything to _Print() _Print1() _Print2 and _Print3(). Each of these methods simultaneously calls Print() with a print depth incrementation to nest my results, and writes out to a separate file at a location I specify in an ini file. Did the same with LogError(), LogWarning, etc.

    Hi Devu,

I have script ready with me, through which one can achieve more or less same functionality mentioned by u. The only difference is that, it writes the results in CSV file rather than creating an HTML file. So if u need that script, please mail me at bkalra@arsin.com.

Re: Function to convert Res file to HTML

Last week DCreed left this message on creating a html file for dynamic input: Prompting for input with a SilkTest generated HTML page isn't hard, either.

The attached .zip contains a .inc file that'll do a simple one item prompt. Fairly easy to modify that to prompt for more things as necessary.

Just use the PromptForInput function. Unfortunately, if you're testing a web application, this might muck things up by switching to the prompt page.

This was enter the thread: User input during runtime and dated 7/18.

I modified this function so that it takes a List of string (Questions) and a List of string (default answers) as input and then added a for loop to generate multiple questions and there default answers.

You could use the same idea to create a html page of results.

If you would like to see my code modification please let me know.

    Mike

    Hi,
I am working on SilkTest 5.0.3.2 and am having problems with generating
    my own report
of whether my test cases failed or passed.
I got your email id from the QA Forum where you said you have the script
    ready with you.
    Can I have that ???
Here is the excerpt that you posted in the forum.
