    why tags are different?

    Hi
Why do i get different indexes for controls on browser on two different machines?
For example , there is pushbutton by name Add.On one machine index is #3 and on other machine it is #1.Why so?

    Thanks for your time,
    Hari

    Re: why tags are different?

I would imagine that the setup is different on the two machines. For example, IE 5.0 on one, IE 5.5 on another, DOM extension on one, VO extension on the other.

On a page using tables, browser size can affect the arrangement of items so that the index numbers will change, too.

    I'm totally agree with Dave(dcreed) ...
And aslo make sure you set all IE browser settings to default. How to do that? Here is the path (IE Browser Menu/ Tools /Internet Options / Tab Advanced / Button on the bottom "Restore Defaults”).

    Re: why tags are different?

It depends on how the page is loaded. Index tags are not very safe to use. Try using the Caption tag or the window id tag.
    Hope this helps
