    SilkTest Solaris Agent

Does Segue have a Solaris Agent? We are doing non-gui API testing. Our supported platforms are Win2K and Solaris. We want to have one script (running on Windows) which controls target machines (Win2K & Solaris).
    Thanks for your Help!

    Re: SilkTest Solaris Agent

    Jim,

I've heard people speak of an agent running on Unix, but I'm not familiar with it. What I have done however is used the SilkBean on Solaris. It is still young, and has its limitations, but really did a fair job of testing our stuff.

Now, I'm concerned about the ability to use it in a non-GUI environment. That may be a significant issue with SilkTest altogether. I also was/am testing a non-GUI application, but wrote a small JavaGUI to act as a front end and make API calls through.

Yes, we have two Solaris agents and have done the tests that you describe.
Our group has since moved all of the Java GUIs to NT boxes, so I have not tried it with the latest versions of SilkTest.

Yes, we are currently using Silktest 5.0.3.2 on Win2K and the solaris agent 4.1 successfully. I must point out though that we had endless trouble getting the solaris agent to work successfully, and that Segue support weren't exactly fantastic with their help in solving the problem. There are known bugs if you are using Silktest 5.0.3 with the solaris agent so ensure you are using 5.0.3.2 or higher.
