Silk VB Extensions cause application to crash
We have a problem where where simply turning on the Silktest VB/ActiveX extension
with the Agent's Extension Enabler consistently causes our application to crash every time it is shutdown. Neither the Agent or Silktest has to be run at all, it is a problem with the Silktest DLLs that Windows loads on startup. The crash is an "Invalid Page Fault in QAPOM.DLL" (a Silk DLL) and happen under Windows 95/98 and NT4.
Our application is a C++/VB hybrid. If we do manual tests with the Extention Enabler's "ActiveX" checkbox enabled we get the crash every time we shut down. If we turn it off it never happens. With automated tests in can be a huge problem. After it crashes a few times, Silk fails to recognize the VB OLEMSFlexGrid in a way similar to John Burross's posting about the VBMDIForm. Segue Tech Support has been stalling for a month now, having us generate log files and try Silk 5.1 beta DLLs (which did not help). Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know if there might be something in our hybrid application that would contribute to Silk causing this crash? This is the first C++/VB hybrid that our developers have produced.
Re: Silk VB Extensions cause application to crash
If you have used QA Partner in the past, you probably had the VBSpy code inserted in the application being tested. If that code is still in your app, SilkTest will not work. Try removing the VBSpy.
