    Write to a Table Cell in JavaJFCTable

    How can I determine if this field is writable? It is not, but I need to verify that and cannot find any method in SilkTest that gives me this information. IsEditable, IsEnabled and IsVisible don't give me what I need here...

    Not sure if it raises an error or not, but have you tried SetCellValue inside of a do...except? If it's unsettable, perhaps it raises an error that you can capture and confirm which, in this case, is a good thing?

    do
    MyTable.SetCellValue ({"1","1"}, "My Value")
    // if the above worked, then the cell is writable
    raise 1, "*** Error: SetCellValue worked!"
    except
    //check for "proper" error code raised by SetCellValue

    If that doesn't work, you could do a really kludgy workaround:

    sVal = MyTable.GetCellValue ({1,1})
    MyTable.SetCellValue ({1,1}, "foo")

    if MyTable.GetCellValue ({1,1}) == "foo"
    raise 1, "*** Error: Cell 1,1 is editable and shouldn't be. Waaah!"

    Bon chance.

    Well...

    This is the direction I am headed. I suppose it is legit. I was hoping there was a built in method of determing this and I was just ignorant of it.
