    Unable to open results file.

    Hi,
I ran 'gk.t' file which is containing about 150 testcases. They ran for some time.
All of sudden I got a message " Unable to open c:\..\gk.res" file.
Can anybody help me. This is ******.

    Thanks,

Re: Unable to open results file.

Well it depends on what you want.
If you want to start running immediatly
copy that file somewhere else or under
    another name then delete it.

The res file occasionally gets corrupt and
Silk essentially freezes up on you. Sadly I have not found a way to read a corrupt file once this occurs .. so if it's the results
of the run you want, from my experiance you are out of luck.

Even though I don't like when this happens it rarely does. Also make sure you have plenty of disk space (in case you didn't check).

Re: Unable to open results file.

Look in the directory the results file is stored in for a .jou (journal) file.

If you find it, delete it. You should be able to access the results file once it is gone.

    Hi,
Thanks for the help. Bruce is correct. I have deleted .jou file. Now I am able to access the results file. Thanks all for the help.

Re: Unable to open results file.

I have noticed this to happen also. Where does this .jou come from?

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I've been assuming that the .jou file is part of a journal mechanism that temporarily stores results data until completion of a test script/suite/plan. Once test execution is completed, data in the journal file is used to create the .res file, and then it (the .jou file) is deleted.

Re: Unable to open results file.

    Hi All,
I still have this problem. I have deleted .jou file, but this problem is appearing again and again. I could not run these testcases completely. I have checked for ResOpenList and ResCloseList. Nothing Wrong with them. In result file I saw message "Script aborted by user", which I did not do. I have attatched results file.
    Please help.

    Thanks for help,
